Welcome to Empowered Purpose Coaching !

Thank you for visiting my website.

I'm excited to introduce you to the partnership of life coaching. I became interested in life coaching after reading a book by Valorie Burton, a nationally known life coach and former Public Relations Executive (http://www.valorieburton.com). Because of divine timing, I was able to spend a year in a coaching partnership with Valorie where I was able to experience more personal success and gain confidence in taking risks that were going to help me live a more fulfilling life. Through my work with her, I was featured in an article in Essence Magazine, that she authored and my family and I were featured in an article in Women's World Weekly Magazine.

Meanwhile, I began studying and learning more about the coaching profession ultimately receiving my certification with Life Purpose Coaching Centers International founded by Dr. Katie Brazelton based on her book series, Pathway to Purpose. This past July, a major oppportunity presented itself for me to become a Representative and now Certified Coach with a company called, COMPASS. COMPASS is a personal development company for women offering coaching services and resources utilizing a product called a Monthly Action Plan (MAP). The MAP has a monthly theme and provides daily audio messages along with reflective homework as a personal growth tool. In addition, COMPASS offers monthly group coaching calls. This coaching is very affordable at less than $60.00 per month.

Through my coaching practice, Empowered Purpose Coaching I offer one-on-one coaching, small group and workshop facilitation, and group coaching through COMPASS (http://www.mylifecompass.com/lakeciaharris) all relating back to the topic of life purpose and purposeful professional development.

I would be honored to be your partner in a coaching relationship that would help you to be inpsired, connected, and empowered in experiencing more of your life's purpose.

What Excelllent Mentors Do

Excellent mentors affirm their mentees. A few days ago, I shared with you that I have a mentor whose name is Marie. Ten years ago as a young professional, I observed Marie's behavior in the workplace and was able to observe her thought processes and mannerisms in professional conduct and in building relationships. Because of Marie, I was able to take on new job tasks with confidence because of what she taught me through mentoring. I was allowed to have an opinion, make mistakes, and chart new courses of direction because she shielded me This pocess is severly undervalued in our work environments. Often times, new personnel arrive within a department and almost immediately determine that the projects and relationships build under the previous administration is worthless. I've had this happen to me on more than one occassion.

It would be valuable for us to consider the characteristics of a mentor to determine how we can build more positive and rewarding relationships in the workplace leading to our job success. As mentors, when we affirm our mentees, we are stating that we think they are are invaluable to our organizations and it helps them overcome self-doubt and a lack of confidence. Would you consider being a mentor to a junior executive in your organizaition or too a teen or college student?
